Adding Graphic Novel look to images.


This is quick way to give your images the look of a graphic novel.

Open PhotoShop or Elements, select your image this works best on images that look sinister of have a sense of foreboding, Gothic buildings or churches. Imagine early Batman comics.

Convert your image to Grayscale color mode. Choose Image>Mode>Grayscale.

When prompt box appears select 'Discard Color information?' this will convert your color images to Grayscale working space.

Next apply 'Graphic look' by choosing Filter>Sketch>Graphic Pen.

In the dialog box set the Stroke Length to 15 then set Light/dark Balance to a mid range about 55. The Stroke Direction is up to you.

The light dark balance settings can be adjusted to each image to obtain the effect required.

One satisfied with settings, click OK to close the dialog box to apply filter.
